B.E. CIVIL ENGINEERING

Program Outcomes (PO)

Graduates in Civil Engineering will acquire and possess ability to,

PO1: Engineering Knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering fundamentals for solving complex Civil engineering problems.

PO2: Problem Analysis: Design experiments and subsequently analyze the data and interpret the results to draw significant conclusions.

PO3: Design/development of solutions: Design, plan and execute a safe system, component or process as per the needs and specifications within economic, environmental and societal constraints.

PO4: Investigations on Complex Problems: Investigate, formulate, analyze, design and execute a civil engineering project in accordance with Indian Standard Codes of practice by providing multidisciplinary expertise.

PO5: Modern Tool Usage: Select and use modern equipments, software programs available to perform complex tasks in Civil Engineering.

PO6: Engineer and Society: Identify and offer solutions to problems in areas of social importance. e.g. transportation, water treatment and supply, sewage disposal etc.

PO7: Environment and Sustainability: Evaluate the environmental impact of engineering solutions on society and utilize the technical competence to curb environmental damage and promote sustainable development.

PO8: Ethics: Understand the role of civil engineers in following standard professional practice techniques with firm commitment on ethical values.

PO9: Individual and Team Work: Work in multidisciplinary teams and acquire technical skills for providing suitable solutions to engineering problems.

PO10: Communication: Articulate unambiguous technical language through oral, written and graphical communication.

PO11: Project Management and Finance: Perform economic analysis, resource management and activities related to design and construction of Civil Engineering structures.

PO12: Life-long Learning: Recognize the need and develop an ability to engage in life-long learning.

Program Specific Outcomes (PSO)

At the completion of programme, civil engineering graduates will,
PSO1: Become successful Civil Engineer to meet the demand driven needs in the field of Civil Engineering and related profession.

PSO2: Demonstrate technical competence to pursue higher study or research in reputed institutes.

PSO3: Exhibit good proficiency in core areas of Civil and related engineering by offering/assisting consultancy and testing services with sound knowledge on professional ethics throughout their lifetime.

PSO4: Acquire necessary skills to work in multi disciplinary teams and engage themselves in lifelong learning.
